Consortium
“A collaboration between 18 European partners”

A balanced network
VAGABOND is coordinated by Dr. Jan Molenaar from the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht. The beneficiaries and partners are selected based on their unique complementary skills and experience to ensure a balanced network. With 11 beneficiaries from 8 different countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, Switzerland, UK), the network allows the mobilisation of a wide range of knowledge all over Europe. All training elements and research projects are part of the pre-clinical drug development pipeline.
The inclusion of Europe’s leading academic and clinical research institutes, well established SMEs, the ITCC consortium and members of the pharmaceutical industry (EFPIA), ensures an optimal and efficient transfer of knowledge and commercialization. As the academic beneficiaries have expert knowledge on different paediatric tumours and state-of-the art research techniques, the non-academic beneficiary and partners are very much interested in this knowledge and expertise. In contrast, the ITCC and the non-academic partners support the pre-clinical drug development pipeline by offering their expertise that is not available within the academia. The development of effective collaboration between the members, is supported by the existence of previous international collaborations between the members of the network.
